Planetariums often use stories to teach their guests about far-off exotic planets, but Climate Stories will bring the focus much closer to home. This collaboration partners planetariums with community organizations to develop local, data-driven visually immersive stories about the impacts of climate change in their surrounding communities.
Through funding provided by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), OCEAN Kids is creating an interactive audio course about microplastics in their communities and around the world. Microplastics are a critical issue students can explore where they live, coastal or not.
Astronomers from 107 nations convened at the International Astronomical Union’s (IAU) 2024 General Assembly. Among them, 10 early career researchers had the opportunity to engage with colleagues from around the world and better understand how their studies fit into the broader research community.
Through funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Associated Universities Inc. (AUI), Tumble Media and the STEM Transformation Institute at Florida International University (FIU) are collaborating to support the STEM identity and literacy development of regionally and culturally diverse Latine families through podcast-initiated science talk at home. Seventeen episodes will be recorded for this project in Spanish and English.
